One of the greatest authors of our time, Charles Dickens, use to sell his books one chapter at a time. He knew that people didn’t have much time to read in the early 1800s, since they spent so much time in the factories and avoiding horrible diseases. What he understood is that by selling his content in bite sized pieces and leaving the reader with a reason to read the next chapter, he would be successful. Oh, and boy was he. Digital comics give publishers and creators the ability to find the right amount of content to distribute each month. Did you know that most people only read about 8 pages every times they sit down to read a book digitally?
To that end, we are very excited to be working with Trajectory Comics and their Classics Illustrated. Hello Mr. Dickens.
Classics Illustrated Meets Graphicly!
We are thrilled to announce a partnership with
Trajectory Comics, publisher of the iconic
Classics Illustrated digital graphic novel series. It is hard to resist devouring classic literature when it is told in such a dynamic and engaging way! What I like so much about these acclaimed titles is that they are presented with bold color illustrations and straightforward text that makes literature accessible to readers of all ages. The Classics Illustrated series is packed with powerful heroes, villains and damsels in distress that rival any of today’s superhero comics.

I’m sitting here in a hotel in NYC after meetings with some great publishers and creators and just cant stop being excited about the content we are now seeing come through our new self-publishing tool. For anyone out there that thinks the best work is coming from the major publishers is just completely missing out.
We pride ourselves on surfacing great content, and helping authors get their stories seen. Take for example JFH: Justice For Hire, a fun book about mixed martial arts. We are working with them to help promote their Facebook animation contest judged by who is hosting an animation contest that is going to judged by Neal Adams, veteran comic writer Jan C. Childress, “Star Wars” fan-favorite voice-over actor, Ahmed Best, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master and action choreographer, John Machado.
Or check out Planetoid, which we spotlighted on our blog which involves space pirates and aliens in a survivalist science fiction story that we all loved at Graphicly.
And it not just great books that we are finding. We also have Paul Allor do a wonderful guest commentary on the freedom digital comics provide creators. Should creators be taking advantage of the medium, or just copying what they did in print? Let Paul know what you think in the comments!

The triumphant arrival of a brand new wednesday brings with it a treasure trove of new comics to read on Graphicly! This week, a little something for everybody. Roger Langridge’s Snarked! #3 is pitch perfect for all ages, while Seven Warriors #2 should sate the carnal yearnings of those surlier readers.
Today we’re particularly excited about Prophet #21 from Image. Don’t let the number fool you. This is the start of a new chapter in the adventures of John Prophet, Rip Van Winkle of Earth’s bleak future. As alien visitors feed on the devolved human populace, it’s up to Prophet to kick-start a revolution devised by the long-dead empire of man. Driven by instructions implanted in his dreams, he journey’s through a largely unfamiliar wilderness, battling fearsome mutants and beasts possessed by exotic parasites. He will eventually arrive in the organic city of Earth’s new sovereigns, a rotting behemoth nestled in the planet’s crust like a mouldering tick. Inside, a strange race of aliens and the next leg in his mission to win back his world.

Graphicly is excited to announce the expansion of its innovative digital distribution platform to better meet the needs of authors and publishers of all types. The Graphicly platform offers automated self-publishing by converting, distributing and promoting image-based digital content across the most popular consumer mobile and eBook marketplaces including the Apple iOS Newsstand and iBooks, Barnes & Noble NOOK Color, Amazon Kindle store, the Google Android Marketplace, Facebook and many others, while streamlining the work flow, reducing production costs significantly and providing authors and publishers detailed real-time analytics. As the only platform that optimizes image-based content, Graphicly is uniquely poised to take advantage of the $23 billion publishing market, including the more than 300,000 self-published authors expected to produce a graphical work this year.
“Over the past few years, the team at Graphicly identified an unmet need in the digital publishing industry for automated tools to convert, distribute and promote image-based content,“ said Micah Baldwin, Graphicly founder and CEO. “By opening up our proven digital distribution platform, we now provide these services, while giving authors and publishers full control of their content and revenue streams and a deep understanding of how readers are engaging with their content. We believe our customer’s books should be available in every marketplace imaginable, with the knowledge and support to properly market and promote them.”
