Pad Gadget has a pretty comprehensive listing of iOS apps designed for reading comics on the iPhone or iPad. While some are rather pricey (Comic Zeal’s $8 price tag is a bit much) most are free.

This past weekend, Dark Horse Comics revealed their long-awaited Digital Comics App to attendees of the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. Dark Horse staff were on hand to demonstrate the app, provide an overview of the program, and answer questions.
The Dark Horse comics app will launch with hundreds of downloadable comics. It will soon be available for all iOS platforms through the iTunes store. Comics will also be available to purchase and read on modern web browsers at digital.darkhorse.com. New features and platforms — including Android support — will follow shortly.

I mean--nothing short of designing #digitalcomics with smartphones in mind. But nobody does that. I cannot think of anything which would make reading #digitalcomics as pleasant an experience as paper comics. I tried. I love comics on paper but unfortunately, I've acquired too much of it. Hence: #digitalcomics that's all there is to it for me. Ok #digitalcomics the thing for me is cleanliness. That's my motivation. I want to be spartan. I want to own very few artifacts.
